Eco Town
Greenleaf Global has been working on a consultancy basis to assist P3Eco in finding a renewable energy solution for their exciting new Government endorsed Eco-town in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
P3 Eco have been working very hard in order to bring this project of 5000 eco-friendly houses and town infrastructure to fruitarian. They have now completed a fantastically innovative show house, which has supposed all expectations on carbon reduction. Greenleaf have been lucky enough to work with some world renown names such as the Architect Sir Terry Farrell, the engineers at Arup, the Housing Association A2 Dominion and Cherwell District council.
Some Key points on the scheme are:
- The proposal has the full support of the local authority which identified the site as an appropriate location for an eco-settlement.
- The scheme can provide a catalyst for the regeneration of Bicester as a sustainable community.
- A major advantage is that maximum use can be made of existing social and physical infrastructure.
- In transport terms the development can build upon and strengthen the existing public transport infrastructure including the proposed new transport interchange at Bicester to provide a new rail link between Oxford and London Marylebone.
- The development will enable Bicester substantially to meet its target for new homes to 2026, and for those to be provided to highest environmental standards to assist Bicester achieve carbon neutrality.
- The scale of development proposed and and strategic position of Bicester will enable it to develop into a national centre of excellence for employment in the new environmental industries.
